In the last decade we witness reinvention of self-expandable coronary stents. Today’s generation of these devices is made predominantly
from nitinol giving them specific properties different from stainless steel baloon-expandable stents. Some of those devices were
developed for dedicated use e.g. bifurcation lesions or very small vessels. We still do not have enough clinical data supporting use of
self-expandable stents in wider extent.
