The Journal publishes original articles, review articles, case reports, image case reports with a brief description of interesting findings obtained by imaging methods in the field of interventional and acute cardiology, electrophysiology or areas related to the main focus of the journal. Also included are Letters to the Editor, reviews of new books, new trends in pharmacotherapy and information on past and scheduled scientific events. The articles are published in Czech, Slovak or English language. The Journal of Interventional Cardiology and Acute Cardiac Care is an independent Journal, but collaborates closely with the Associations of Acute and Interventional Cardiology of the Czech Society of Cardiology. All articles are subject to double-blind, independent peer-review.
Authors will be sent notifications of the receipt of manuscripts and editorial decisions by e-mail.
All submitted manuscripts are reviewed initially by the Interventional Cardiology and Acute Cardiac Care Editor-in-Chief with respect to the following criteria: material is original, study methods are appropriate, data are valid, conclusions are supported by the data and topic has general medical interest. Manuscripts not suitable for publication are rejected promptly. Other manuscripts are sent to two independent experts for peer review. Peer reviewer identities are kept confidential, and also authors identities and their institutions are kept confidential to reviewers. The existence of a manuscript under review is not revealed to anyone other than peer reviewers and editorial staff. Peer reviewers are required to maintain confidentiality about the manuscripts they review. Final decision regarding manuscript publication are made by an Editor on the basis of reviewers decision to publish without further revision, with minor or major revision or reject the manuscript. In cases with equivocal recommendation of reviewers, the final decision is made by Editorial Board.
All editorial decisions are independent from any commercial and financial interests, advertisements are not in any way connected to the scientific and professional content of the papers. Editorial decisions must not be affected by sponsors, advertisers or marketing interests. All advertisements must comply with the Czech and European legislation. Advertisements and scientific part of the Journal are distinctly separated. Journal does not publish advertorials.
Whenever authors identify errors in published papers, they should send a letter to the Editor-in-Chief requiring publication of a correction in the form of a Corrigendum or Erratum.
Expressions of concern to individual published papers are usually handled as Letters to the Editor. Before publication, the Letter is presented to the authors and an answer to the concern is anticipated in the same issue of the Journal.
Papers may be withdrawn by the corresponding author before they are accepted for publication. If paper is withdrawn after publication, this will be stated in the next printed issue of the Journal and link will be provided to the electronic form of this paper.
Papers may be retracted due to infringements of professional ethical codes, failure to disclose conflicts of interest, multiple submission, bogus claims of authorship, plagiarism, fraudulent data, data fabrication, data falsification, deceptive manipulation of images or other legal reasons. Decision to retract paper is may be initiated by authors Institution, Court, other relevant legal institutions or Editorial Board of the Journal. Retraction note will be stated in the next printed issue of the Journal and link will be provided to the electronic form of the paper. Retraction note will be included in an electronic and a print Table of Contents and properly indexed. Retraction note will include the title of the original article in Abstract and full text of the paper. The retraction and original article will be linked and the retracted article will be labelled as retracted. The authors of the retraction should be the same as in original paper.
